Default Pretty in Pink?

Last week and this week the painters have been working on the house. We decided to paint it a light pink (thanks to Vito). The trim is white. Here are a few pics:

One of our neighbors told me everyone in the "hood" refers to this house as "The Gingerbread House". It is definitely unique for this area. Most of the houses here are raised beach houses.

I really like it, Val!

Hope to see it in person someday!

OMG, Val - it looks incredibly gorgeous! Can't wait to see it! Will show the pics to Vito this evening. His version is a bit more pink, but you hit just the right shade. You guys have to will me that house!!

^^ Vito's painting certainly influenced the color choice. I'd been thinking of a nice beige (I'm so dull ) without yellow undertones and when I saw his painting, I knew a nice pink was the color that this house was made to be. We totally LOVE it and are soooo glad to get the contractors gone! We only have two more contractor visits planned. One is to repair/reconnect the icemaker under the bar and the other is the custom blinds and skylight treatment. After that we'd like some time to just enjoy the house for a while.

Beautiful house, Val. I love all the windows.
My contractor starts on my house today. Things should be interesting around here for a few months.

Our house has been undergoing restoration and repairs since December of last year. The first wave was done by the owner's contractors which stopped in February when we took title. Since February we've been having work done. Our work was on hiatus due to my back injury from March until the end of April. Since a back injury does not preclude the use of a telephone ( ), there has been a steady stream of contractors here since the end of April. I'm ready to just plain stop and will simply put off any other work (and I'm sure there will be more) until (a) we sell the Virginia house and get more $$ and (b) I become more mobile so I can better see the exterior things I want to get done. I'm very thankful that we've met some nice folks down here who are in the lawn and landscaping business and some nice contractors. However, none of them come cheap. The next project I've lined up for Jim is getting the irrigation system working properly. We have a well dedicated for irrigation and a fairly nice irrigation system but some of the sprinklers need to be replaced. Apparently it was built in stages using 3 or 4 different companies so we need some assistance. Otherwise, I'm pretty satisfied with everything except the storage issues which will have to be addressed when (a) above takes place.

What he said. When I first read "pink" I thought . But the color is perfect - elegant and understated.

Isn't that Elvis looking out the window in the third picture?

I love those windows and the whole look of the house. Yep, you're definitely in the pink now.
