I would establish a new baseline for maintenance because in my experience people will say what they have to in order to close a sale.
Glad you got it fixed. Just adding an amendment to the maintenance list above of what I would recommend.

*. Change clutch fluid every year or two, depending on how much and how hard you drive.
* Change coolant every 5 years on older vehicle.

That was exactly correct. Transmission fluid down a bit and a clutch adjustment and I am back to perfect.
