How about a non-confrontational political thread
You may post a trivia question or an anecdote about one of our pre-1980 Presidents, Vice Presidents or even Presidential Candidates, but.....PLEASE.....no left/center/right adenda
OK.....I'll start (using one I heard on a quiz show tonight):
***Which Vice President (later to become President) fly with the Wright Brothers in their plane in 1910***
To avoid frustration (and allow peeking), I'll also start a separate thread with the Answer! If people like this , this could become the first real Dueling Vintage Thread
If people do NOT like it, it will fall into oblivion in short order

Can you name this President?
What we have here is this Presidents-economics. It was almost exactly 40 years ago when this Democratic President called for a 30% across the board income-tax-rate cut. He argued that high tax rates were one of the primary deterrents to prosperity. He believed that without tax cuts, "it is a paradoxical truth we will never reach our industrial potential to balanced the budget." He said that every American should receive a tax rate reduction, because "a rising tide of prosperity will lift all boats."
In fact, this past Presidents tax cut was a much larger tax cut for the rich than the current administrations. He cut the top income-tax rate from 91% to 70% . The current administration only cuts the top tax rate from 40% to 35%.
This past President believed that when the rich face lower tax rates, they will save, invest, work, and hire more.
Who was this radical leader?...... check out the answer in "The answer thread"
