Some change is good, while some change isn't, but I'm old and if I don't like it then everyone else is wrong.

Gene, that change is one of the good ones. Thank you!!

Like most people on the internet, I have a few favorites web sites. I often go to CNN.com for news,...

Every time I turn around, someone is re-designing their web page. CNN not that long ago,...

I don't care for the CNN new design, but maybe I'm just and don't like change?

What's your .02 on this?
I was going to start a thread about this, but figured I'd get blasted for it (like you did, Lainey ) I agree 100%. The new format is "infotainment" with lots of space for stories about "celebrities" and much less about politics and business. Hell, business isn't even on the front page any longer.

My .02? As CNN is a major media player, I interpret this move as a reaction to market research that CNN undertook to determine what the internet viewing population wants to see. The answer? DRIVEL! They went from a fair and honest "down the middle" news outlet to a pop culture gossip site.

The TV audience wants drivel, the internet audience wants drivel, and the print media is dead. Welcome to the world of undereducated, uninformed uncaring mouth breathers who think the latest thoughts or actions of Brianna or Leanardo or Tiger are news. Much of our population now follows the political will of Hollywood celebrities. I guess if someone is sexy and famous they must know how to solve the economy, the health care probelm and global warming. I talk to people whose opinions are all formed by what some entertainer tells them to think. I know some people who actually think The Daily Show is unbiased news reporting!!! I think the biggest enemy of the American public is now the media. The Fourth Estate has taken over, and it isn't good.

You clearly don't watch the news................... man, you are way behind on the count. (just a figure of expression, I know you are not a man)

Bill,

There is still PBS and the UK news if you want real news on tv and then there is public radio. Otherwise, I totally agree. It's becoming very sad really. It's like all of America has become a sports bar and doesn't care about hearing real news.

BTW, don't knock mouth breathers....... I had sinus problems growing up and can't help it.

I was away from the computer and the TV most of the day today. I can't keep up with the bimbo count.
