Can't speak for Bill, but it took about a day to get used to the progressives. Like QPhox4 I still have 20/15 vision at distance. My arms just got too short.
The nice thing about progressives is that you have a nice easy transition, that seems to give a broader range of magnification.
I some times wish I had magnification on the top of the lenses when I am under the car or dashboard.

I'm nearsighted and have worn contacts for decades. (This is the vintage forum right?) So a couple years ago I started having trouble reading and ended up with some reading glasses to go along with my contacts. Then I got an eye infection and had to leave one contact out. Lo and behold, I could see both near and far, a miracle. Not really, it had been suggested to me before to try it but it seemed like a silly idea at that time.
I have a bit of trouble with distance at night so if I'll be driving for a time in the dark, I pop the other contact in and have 20/20 again. I'm going with this solution as long as it keeps working for me.
