Wait... If you change oil and filter before you put it into storage, why do you change it again in the spring??

Nope, you appear to be in the "drive it, maintain it, have fun, and just pay the bill" category.

But the filter you installed before storage is still new.

Why not drain the oil and throw away the filter in the fall? The filter isn't doing anything all winter, and the oil just sits in the pan. Start with fresh before you fire it up in the spring.

I'll give you $10 for the oil you drain and the filter you remove in the spring.

I've got an excel spreadsheet that I keep record of any maintenance or repair on anything with an engine in my household. All the cars, motorcycle, lawn mower, snowblower, generator, etc. I don't keep records of gas use, but I do occasionally check mpg on each car.

I've heard that is ultra rare - unobtanium! Don't think I can afford it.

I have a computer App that I enter things like Service and end of season mileage for the S. The bike and Sprite use the same program but I enter Gas As well

Blinker fluid usage is a separate program that tracks Propwash and left hand bolts.

Acidity cannot form without the byproducts of combustion. If the oil is fresh, there are no byproducts to be found. But what ever makes you happy, my friend.
