I like the first lighter one, but I get size won't work. I have tile under my dining room table. I don't think Patricia is a big entertainer of cooking large dinners so crumbs may not be a concern. I think the rug softens the room/darker colors.

^You're correct on the entertainer part. I don't like dusting but I do like a clean floor as I go barefoot a lot and can feel anything. The new dark floor color shows me ever spec of light debris. I'm okay with that. I just suck it up with my handheld vacuum that only has at 20 second life span before needed to plug it in again. My Kirby is great for carpets.

So, I have decided on keeping the rug under it. I am returning the dark one to Home Depot. I ordered the new one 9' one on Amazon and tried to cancel it but it's too late. I can just refuse it if I'm here when it's delivered or return it. On the other hand, I am going to look on Amazon again for a darker 9" radius carpet. Gotta totally exhaust that idea still as Jerry may be on to something.

I took out the new light fixture and tried to put it together. I'm returning it, too, to Amazon. It looked a tad cheap and the metal color was close to black, not bronze. Also, the rings in the box used to hold the light shades in place were not a good fit and my honey cross-threaded one. I tired everything to get it off but failed. I blame it on the company for sending out the wrong size because I have no problem screwing them on at all with my current light fixture. I tried one of the new glass light shades I received, out of 6, from Home Depot, and there was no way I could have cross-threaded the ones on my current light.

I have the new LED bulbs that have a choice of colors and changed the colors on each bulb to one shade cooler. I like that much more than the warmest settling that I had them on.

3-31-2024. This shows the table with the flip-up leaves out making it round. The carpet is a tad small for that but it's rarely configured this way.

3-31-2024. As it is now, with 3000k chosen on the light bulbs.

^The LED bulbs I buy now that let you chose the color you want them to be. Excellent!

^The fixture going back to Amazon. I paid $283.50 on 3-26-2024. It's now listed at $336. Interesting. BTW, the light bulbs were set on 2700K in this picture. They are a warmer color than the setting in the other photos.

^This is the part that cross-threaded on the new fixture. I didn't like the black color anyway. I was glad I got the fixture back in the box to return it, with the one lamp shade stuck on due to the cross-threaded ring.

Patty, we found the perfect lights for our bathroom remodel from https://www.1800lighting.com/

They have a great selection. Maybe give them a look?

Those little retaining rings are a PITA. I have cross threaded them several times.

^These were really bad. I don't think my honey is a mechanically inclined as I am.

Too bad you don't have a Menards near you. They have one of the best selection i have seen outside of a dedicated lighting store.

There's one in Cheyenne, Wyoming just 69 miles away.

I started by looking at Home Depot but it's hard to judge a fixture that's high up.

Home Depot and Lowe’s have lousy selection. Find a good lighting store. Much of what a good stores carries is also on line.

A quick search of the internet came up with two lighting stores in Loveland! They my not be cheap but at least you can get some ideas.
