Republican Presidential Candidates
To give Charlie equal time, let's post our thoughts about Republican presidential candidates.
I'll start it off.
Where are Charles Percy, Nelson Rockefeller, and Edward Brooke now that we need them?
Seriously, whatever happened to the moderate wing of the Republican party, which had some quite impressive men and women in its ranks, people I could easily support in a Presidential election. The conservative wing of the party has made it impossible for moderates to find a fair hearing. Sad.

For the record, I am a Democrat and I didn't vote for George W. Bush. I am curious to hear from those who did. Would you vote for him again? Is he following the policies and platform that you expected? Are you happy with the results? Would you change anything?
Clearly, George Bush is going to be the Republican candidate and he will probably win the election. What direction would you like to see lead the nation in?

Damn, Ralper, I was hoping we'd see a groundswell of support for Dick Cheney. He's the one running the country anyway. Why not make it official?
BTW, I belong to the Free Radical Party -- I've got an electron misplaced somewhere. Or is it a proton? Or maybe it's a neutron

You and I belong in the other thread. I'd like to see those who support G.W. Bush state their case here. If for no other reason, just for some balance. I think it'd be interesting to read both threads as the campaign continues and hear from both sides. This is Vintage so I expect both sides to remain civil and I expect the threads to be thought provoking. I think we'd all learn something.

I think if Republicans wanted to start this thread they would have Rob. I'm not interested in any thread where only certain members of Vintage "belong." I know one was started for the Democrats, but that doesn't mean we Republicans need to have one too. I'd rather we didn't. I will not express my political opinions here and I encourage other Republicans to avoid this type of sepratism too. If the subject can't be discussed by all it shouldn't be discussed at all.
I know you and Rick meant no offense by this and I hope you both know I mean no offense by this response.
