The look back period was once 3 years. It is now five years.

After reading all of these comments a reverse mortgage would not be an option for me. Very scary. We are staying put and plan to live in our present home for as long as we can. Downsizing is in the foreseeable future as a 4100 Sq. Ft. home is going to be too much for us as we age. By that time the equity in this home will give us some nice options. Thanks for enlightening me.
