Is this the right forum for me?
After surfing the different forums on S2ki, I find myself here asking the following question:
Is this where the S2k lovers chat about topics other than drag racing and 1/4 mile times?
Anway, just wanted to throw out a shout. I'm over 30, have a few mods, like to drive agressive, but not into the stop light drag racing scene. I do like shifting and diving in and out of the twisties though

Boy does this sound like me!
I actually just upgraded my '01 with an '02 ECU and have been ecstatic ever since (ok it's only been a week, but it's been a great week!). It has given me back more low end (2000-5000 RPM say) than I thought was possible with the S2000.
It seems like most people want to drag race the s2000, which doesn't make sense in my world. If you wanted to drag race the car, you bought the wrong car in my opinion.
Having fun in the twisties is my idea of fun.

You're kind of an in-betweenie...Vintage members are all over 40, but we have a lot of those who are younger who enjoy the varied topics we discuss here in Vintage, so they spend much of their time in the forum with us. Just jump in whenever you see a thread of interest to you, and welcome!

Yup! Welcome, Joe. We try to keep things mature and civil in this forum.
Pre-vints are definitely welcome.

So, Joe9k, where do you live in the USA?

Thanks for the welcome! I bought a 2002, Formula Red w/ only 4000 miles. Car was a garage trophey for the previous owner. I've wanted an S2k for a while but could not justify buying a new one for a second car. It took me a while to find the right one but now I realize I should have purchased long ago.
Well, I'm just barely over 30 so I guess I'm between forums. I noticed a lot less flaming around here and the threads have been helpful. I was suprised how many owners race and drag the S2k. I would say they bought the wrong car. I'd really like to get this car to track someday. Does anyone here autoX? Its so hard to drive this car the way I want to without breaking numerous laws. I'm sure thats a common problem around here; How to drive hard without getting in trouble.
My biggest problem with the car, is that my wife wants to start driving it. I am curious if anyone else has that problem as well?

Us too! When we are home for the weekend, like this coming weekend, I get the cars all shiny and my husband and I plan which twisties to drive on Saturday or Sunday. Lucky for us, they recently re-opened our favorite, Bouquet Cyn. Rd. after fixing all the wash outs from the rains we had this winter.
