Here's a bit of backstory on John Prine. I'm surprised you never heard of him Dave, we all belong to the same generation.

Here's information on John Prine and a number of other performers who have been killed by Covid-19.

Awful we lost a lot already. Such a shame that John Prine beat cancer twice and succumbed to this virus.

Great lyrics, fine guitar playing. Thought to be the next Dylan at one time. Never very popular but always a part of the folk scene.

John Prine, rest in peace.

“I hate graveyards and old pawn shops
For they always bring me tears
I can't forgive the way they rob me
Of my childhood souvenirs”

-J. Prine

definitely one of my favorite Prine songs and lyrics. Really rings true for me personally.

lost a great artist. I’m sure many more will follow. Such a sad time for us all.

I thought he sounded a bit like Dylan. I knew the name but wasn't familiar with what genre he sang. The above video was first time I heard him.

Here's one of his more well known songs. Sam Stone about a Vietnam vet.

That's a great song (actually about 99% of his songs are great).
