Default Rubber window molding is loose

I just noticed that on the driver side of my car, that the rubber molding strip which the window hits when closed, has a tendency to come loose and droop down. The strip is actually the smaller of two rubber strips that the window contacts when it is closed. The right side of the car has a similar arrangement for the molding.

I took the car to my local dealer and he said that the molding was simply "out of its channel". He pushed it back in, but on my last trip, it came loose again.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? It is pretty annoying to have the rubber strip hanging down because when I enter the car, it always hits my head.

hate to say it but I'd guess you probably need to replace the gasket.
Once they lose their basic form and fall loose their won't regain it.
You might try putting a little rubber glue on the back of the gasket and see if it holds.

Try 3M's "scotch-grip" rubber and gasket adhesive # 847. Prep the rubber first with alcohol or other suitable cleaner and follow the directions on the label. This adhesive works well.
