Default Rum Drinkers?

So seeing the bourban thread, I thought I would start a Rum thread :P

Any rum drinkers, and what do you drink?

My favorite at the moment has been Kirk and Sweeney. I have tried all of theirs and the 12 year is my absolute favorite of them. A few ice cubes is all it needs. enjoying one right as we speak actually

Just like bourbon I'm no expert on Rum; just know what I like. Captain Morgan (original) is always on hand for the wife and others. For goofy drink mixes Captain Morgan (silver). For me, Bacardi (white) is just fine. I think it was my drink of choice when I was starting out 50 years ago and I've never gotten tired of it. With or without Coke depending on my mood and the time of day or night. Rum has to be one of the easiest drinks ever for drinking straight on ice (just saying)/ I am sure there are better rums; my son in law always has some I have never heard of when we visit FL. Maybe I am missing some really good ones; I'll look for Kirk and Sweeney.

I've got a bottle of Zaya 12 for everyday sippin' rum, and the +1 has some Santa Teresa Solera 1796. . . one cube, that, and you're good.

I started with Bicardi and now I drink the Captain. Always with coke. This is my standard drink.

We both drink Tanqueray Gin and diet tonic at home, when we go out my wife drinks Pinot Grigio and I drink New Belgium Fat Tire or Yuengling draft beer.

Rum?

Skip the spices and weak blends. Here's my choice.

My first time getting really really drunk was a buddies "going home" party when I was in the army in S. Korea. I had too many rum and cokes. Therefore I rarely touch the stuff.

Dean, one of my buddies feels the same way about margaritas.
It was really hot and he wasn't aware of how much alcohol was in them, until it was well past too late.
