The S made another list!
Yes two choices that IMO are excellent values are the Z-06 and the 996 a LOT of bang for your buck in both.
I'm a huge Ferrari fan but never cared for the styling of the 360. Like it states in the article the 360 is a little cheaper to service during a major due to I believe an access panel behind the seats that allows the timing belt to be swapped out without pulling the motor.
I felt they were a little low on the value of the S I consider the value to be closer to 20k.

Nicely curated list. And the S2000 is the feature photo shot.
About that neon: If you are looking for accelerate, be it on a drag strip or out of the corner at the Dragon or at your local autocross event, the SRT-4 is a ton of bang for the buck. My son ran 11.88 at Gulfport in his SRT-4 with slicks and a MoPar Stage 3 kit from the Chrysler Corp. parts bin (turbo, injectors, ecu, downpipe, etc.). He also had no trouble running with the pack at an S2000 Dragon event when he joined me and my S for the weekend. Even stock the SRT was a ton of fun and a very competent autocross competitor. With the MoPar kit, the thing was a laugh riot on the street but traction was a serious issue that required judicious use of the skinny pedal.

The only durability issue Rob experienced was with the transmission. It started popping out of gear every now and then. His research indicated this was a common issue, especially with the additional horsepower. The engine itself never had any issues and he put quite a few miles on it after installing the MoPar kit. One big advantage to the kit was that the ECU was factory tuned to the other modifications. It ran perfectly right out of the box. There were no top- or bottom-end modifications involved with the MoPar kit. All bolt-on.
