S2000 lives on

Question about the hard top:
Assuming Honda elects to make a coupe version of the S2000-wouldn't that require a complete redesign of the windshield frame/doors and trunk area?
I don't see how the current hard top would meet SCCA/ any other race series requirements.
Is the current hard top *that* much stronger than the convertible we have now?

12. The S2000 is amazing. I HATE every other Honda model on the US marketplace, but the S2000 is a true sports car. Feels like it came from a different company really...

13. The s2000 is engineering at its best. More then 100hp from each litre of the 2157cc engine. The only other companys that produce engines like that are ferraris. It may not be the best roadster but certainly unique in it's class.

14. I agree with Alex. I've love the S2000 ever since I first heard word of it back in 1999. There are few cars that have such a clean look and the go-cart ride of the S2000. You can pick one up used with under 30k miles for about $20k too. In addition to the 9k RPM redline...they're very reliable. As my 330Ci gets a bit older, I'd love to pick one up used.

From Speedtv.com & AutoCar
[QUOTE]So how is Honda going to achieve the necessary added aggression? Given its preference of high-revving atmospheric engines over forced-induction ones, a turbocharger probably isn't on the cards. It's more likely that the company will apply its latest VTEC valve timing technology to the car's standard 237hp 2.0-liter motor, which, allied to upgraded induction and exhaust systems, should boost headline power up beyond 260hp.
Added to that will be power-to-weight ratio gains achieved through weight saving. Aluminum body panels, aluminum updates to the car's

cthree posted this on another forum; don't know if having fun or not.
Here's something new BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE TO S2KI from a reliable source:
The CR will be a leaned out model, permanent hardtop, white only, front and rear fascia changes, new wheels and tires, no AC, no stereo, no creature comforts, no power steering. It will be lightened but by how much I don't know. The engine I have no info on. It will be something along the minimalist lines of an Elise.

Will it have a clock? If not, I have my 'originial oem' Brookstone clock still and would be willing to sell it for the right price.
