Default S2000 makes yet another 'list'

With $4 gas prices last summer and a dead SUV market, what kind of idiot steals those vehicles?

Has me scratching my head too, Dave. It is the first time I've seen a list that expresses stolen vehicles in terms of cars per 1K registrations..... instead of just total numbers of cars stolen.

On lists that simply refer to the total number of vehicles stolen, the Civic always seems to make it... because of the sheer number of them on the road.

With only 5-8K S2000's sold in the U.S. each year, a stolen rate of 8.1 per thousand registrations turns in to a scary percentage of total cars registered.

The combo of huge payments and gas hogs; yup he might be onto something.

It sure is a nice photo they have on there. Makes me want a Laguna Blue S, all over again.

That must be the difference! I didn't pick up on that.

The average claim for a stolen '07 Escalade is $13,060? That's either some nasty depreciation or most are found and returned. Maybe the thieves just drive them around for a few hours until they run out of gas.
