Default S2ki Has Gone to the Pits

0916-2013 - I wanted to up date everyone on this situation; it has been resolved. My funds were returned and I received an apolgy from S2ki and PayPal. They could not figure out what happened; but when my bank took them to task it was resolved. I want to thank everyone for their advise.

================================================== ===

Hello to all my Vingate Friends

I have been a member in good standing for almost 10 years and come to the conclusion that S2Ki does not give a flying ---- about it members and will take anything that they can from your out annual subscription. On 7-28-2013 I noticed that $50 was taken out of my bank account for membership dues. I knew that this was an error because my subscription was not due until 3-15-2014. I contacted my bank; the followed the trail to PayPal which produced a document from S2ki requesting payment dated 8-12-2012. I filled a complaint with PayPal stating that I did not authorized this payment and it was fraudulent. They in-turn contacted S2ki and was told that they were not going to return the funds and denied their payment request document because it was a year old. I have tried to contact S2ki and they will not respond.

PLEASE watch you membership subscription and do not get ripped off like I have.

I've never known them to take membership fees automatically. I always had to do the transaction after membership ran out. Weird. I'll be watching them.

Vyk - click on Manage Membership in the dropdown from your username upper right. You will see a note under your current membership that memberships automatically renew via Paypal unless you cancel that. You have the option to do so there. Your membership history is there, too. Mine is OK and I have no problem with auto renewal. If I do, I'll opt out.

The site may have gone to the pits in other ways. I was going to post a thread in the Las Vegas forum about our trip out there in Nov, but it seems most of the LV members have flown the coop to a LV Facebook page since the new system was put in place. I guess they (and probably others) do not like the new format/management/whatever. I can't fly anywhere because I'm not on any social media sites by choice. So I guess it's still S2Ki for the time being.

Thanks for the information; I did what in 2011 and verified it for my 2012-13 membership. Even PayPal verified that I had cancelled my automatic payment. It is like no one wants to take responsiblity for the situation.

Deb, just a suggestion. The Vegas group of NSX owners is pretty active on NSXPrime. You may want to join and post something there. You can tell them you know 3 NSX owners! (Patty, tof, and me)

Edit: Here's the link to the Vegas forum: Link

Thanks, but not worth it. I'm getting lots of info from peeps who have been out there. I was just surprised since I'd not seen a forum pretty much abandon S2Ki.

I think the younger generations generally migrated to social media as an alternative method to traditional forums (Just like many of us changed from BBS systems to forums). Even DelVal had our own forums and calendar at one point, outside of S2KI. NES2KO was out there (still out there?), and I think DV and Metro NY also have FB pages that are self monitored/moderated for people who choose that route.

I just think it matches the change in demographics of the users.

Atlanta has done pretty much the same. Too bad for me - FaceBook scares the crap out of me.

What I find frustrating is how LONG it takes for a thread to load. Apparently it is trying to make up it's mind on what ad to run at the top of the page! Several times lately I just give up and log out. I have no problem getting into the site, and other sites show no delay at all.
