Red face Saturn Sky

This little roadster ought to give Saturn a true shot in the arm! Appears to be a bit underpowered (relative to the "S"), at least initially.... and doesn't seem to be quite as "hi-tech", but IMO they did a -great- job with the styling.

I suspect it will be priced in the same realm as the Solstice.

That's the best-looking car Saturn has ever built. I know--that's not saying much.

Isn't it really the same car as the Solstice with slightly different skin?

I wonder how the performance and handling will be.

From what i have seen and read it should be about the same.
Power is to come from the same 4 cyl Ecotec making 170 hp.
Somewhere down the line they plan on a turbo charged version

Saturn keeps sending me updates on the Sky...I can't decide whether or not I really like it. It reminds me of a Corvette that was left in the dryer too long!

I actually owned a Saturn for 10 years. My SC had a decent engine and drivetrain, but the interior was literally falling apart when I donated it to charity. I hear GM's getting its act together on interiors; we'll see.

I will say I never had a bad experience at the dealerships. Saturn really did train its people well.

I can't wait to see and test drive a Sky for myself, although I have no intention of trading in my S.

I thought this was a thread about the planet Saturn in the sky.

I like the looks of the Sky. If I was a single person wanting a new relatively inexpensive (I'm guessing) car, I would be checking it out. It's not an S2000 but it's not bad for a Saturn.

Why the Sky instead of a Miata? Especially the Mazdaspeed Miata. It's a little more expensive than the Sky, but probably much more car.

I don't know. What's the Miata look like now days? I'm just thinking about the looks. If I was really a single person looking for a new car I would do my homework. I usually start with Consumers Reports and only consider reliable cars. No black dots for me. Then I'd see what I like in my price range.

Yeah, its the same as the Solstice. The specs are very close to the S as far as dimensions, weight, wheelbase, but looks to be a bit wimpy in the power dept. They'll have to come out with a turbo or more displacement after the initial splash.
