there are a fair amount of stories of shocks failing at fairly early mileage.
I believe I've done a pretty good job of tracking complaints from the beginning. Shocks were never a concern that came to my attention - - other than autocrossers maybe tearing up the OEM's.

Here's a link to one of my early posts on the subject:

Dave, I never claimed it to be a pandemic just a cautionary be aware posting.
after I discovered mine i searched and found a bunch of hits.

When you made your original thread there were some 20K S2000's out there instead of 100K.

I have had repairs done to my S that I don't post. I didn't know I needed to run them by you, Dave. I spent $335.81 last month replacing the differential mount bushings.

I asked for a quote at that time to replace my OEM shocks, and the total came to $1,424.35, with $964 being parts and $376 being labor.

I had a right rear go out at 75-80k miles. Searched for 30-45 days and bought a 2007 complete shock and spring for
$300 with 400 miles on them. I took my time installing maybe 2 hours. Alignment was $65
I sold my old one for $50 tophats have some value to those who go to coil overs
that need stock tophats to complete

I'm very happy with the upgrade

Start searching your local FS, only spend $300 on LOW miles, anything with miles $200

Really? Tell me more, Tony. I haven't done any serious looking yet, just talking about it.
