When we went out for our Christmas Eve dinner, both parties in the couple seated next to us were looking at their phones for a lot of the meal. What is the point??

Yep, rude. I try to leave phone in purse. I'm guilty of the every now and again cell phone use. Rick absolutely hates cell phones and the rudeness they bring forth. The Apple watch can bring rudeness to a whole other level. I have no desire to be that connected!

My fit bit can be programmed to advise me of a text or phone call. No thanks.

What really got me was that she just turned her back on me and walked away. I keep my cellphone in my pocket too as I would end up with my face buried in it too.

Call waiting was the beginning of some of this rudeness , I think.
I always would have thought call waiting would be used to answer a call coming in while on another call, and tell the other caller you'd phone them back.

More often than not it became the "I've gotta take this call" and my call with the person was over. Sure could make one feel unimportant.

LOL My Mom HATED call waiting and she refused to get it and if someone with call waiting blew her off to take another call they would hear about it.

The more I use my cellphone, the less I think I like it. I too have an apple watch and I love it EXCEPT I hate taking calls on it. If it rings and I'm in a conversation with a live person I just silence the call and let it go to voice mail. I like the apple watch and wear it most of the time because my gait is slightly off and I'm susceptible to falling. If I fall it texts an alert and if I don't respond quickly, it calls 911. I've known people in my age bracket who fell and were down for hours and hours before anyone came to their assistance. Living mostly alone I like knowing that wouldn't happen to me. I also looking at data about my heart rate, steps taken through the day etc.

I wouldn't get worried about the dog Robb, it sounds like that situation will remedy itself sooner or later.

I feel bad for the dogs not the owners.

I have a bunch of inventory that caught salt water from Hurricane Ian. I decided to donate it to a charity as I didn't want it bought and resold into the super discount recovery market. It is hard to find a charity that puts clothes right on people instead of reselling it in their resale stores. Finally found one and I have been assured it will put directly on children not resold.
What a racket most of them have going. Why does this remind me of the Sister Kinney scandal from years ago? I'd like to see their books.
