For any golfers.Rory McIlroy won the Wells Fargo tournament in Charlotte, NC easily yesterday by 5 strokes even with a double bogey on 18. A birdie there would have broken the course record. This is his 4th win there. He owns this course. When he brings his A game, finally, he is hard to beat.

I feel bad for golf fans with the disruption that the Saudis have caused with LIV golf.
It was always Greg Norman's wet dream to create a super league, instead he created a circus.
LIV golf is somewhat like a parasite. They suck off the top talent identified by the PGA tour.
I have to wonder when the Saudis will get bored and abandon this effort.

I don’t like it when these LIV traitors get to play in some PGA events like the majors. They made a decision to defect to the LIV with huge financial incentives so I consider this double dipping. The PGA commissioner, needs to get some balls and ban them from playing in any PGA events.

This popped up on my FB memory page today. From a Vintage meet 2013: The group of attendees at our car pal gathering are mostly Vintage, i.e. 40+ years of age. In truth, we have many more that are 50+, 60+ and even 70+ years of age. We welcomed a few young couples this year, and here is what one had to say. The wife is talking with her mom about the kids....she just said " yeah we just got back from the cruise...these old men are crazy fast drivers."
The back roads of VA provided some great fun for folks who love to drive and have a car that loves the road.

We got our gas heating and AC system checked/cleaned today. $175.00 for about 45 minutes.

If you heat with oil, the burner should be cleaned yearly. With gas, not so much. I didn't have the heating system service for several years and then we had an issue. I was told it was dust/lint on the sensor, so I decided not to wait so long in between service. I did hear a vacuum so I know they cleaned the furnace and changed the filter. Rick changes the filter regularly. I don't think they do much for the AC unit except make sure it runs/cycles.

Thankfully, all is well. I was going to have them change the thermostat, but they wanted $120.00 for a thermostat worth about $50.00 (non programmable) and it wasn't the same size as the one I have. Rick found the one we have for $50.00 on Amazon.

For those who do not do these things themselves. How often do you have your heating and AC systems checked?

We have our HVAC system checked and serviced twice a year. Once before the cooling season and once before the heating season. Usually around April and October.

We are on a yearly maintenance plan, which covers two checks per year. Plus priority scheduling in case of an emergency and a discount on parts and maybe labor.

We had the system checked in early April before the cooling system. The technician was here for several hours. They send us a very detailed report, including photos.

We currently pay $18 per month for this plan. We are very happy with it. For $216 per year, we think it is well worth it, and it gives us a lot of peace of mind.

Also, since the twice a year visits are "free," we faithfully have the system checked twice a year. Works for us.
