We had our last fire of the season. It was 45° but felt like 39° when we finished. Nothing beats hot dogs over an open fire late at night. The full moon was great and thankfully no breeze which is my biggest worry since I spent most of the day blowing huge dry oak leaves to our forest border. One bad spark and it might get interesting since we have already disconnected and drained the house hoses. But all was calm, neighbor joined us, pandora entertained us on my bluetooth speaker as well as the three dogs. They say snow will show up this coming Monday.

Scientists have found bacteria that are developing enzymes capable of breaking down PET plastics. Granted it's in the oceans t the moment but it holds promise to potentially be of use in recycling.
Having a perverse cynical streak, that's all fine and good until it migrates from the recycling plant and out into the general public.
Anybody remember Kurt Vonnegut's Cats Cradle and Ice 9?

Decided against sending out the area rug in the TV room for cleaning. I have used "Capture Dry Carpet Cleaner" a few times over the years. I bought the kit which comes with a spray bottle of "soil release" liquid, the powdered cleaner and a brush to which you can add a handle (it's threaded).
I had Rick put the rug on top of the living room rug to give me more room to work. While I don't think the carpet was heavily soiled, as the TV room is not high traffic area, both of us think the carpet does look a brighter. I did use the brush with a handle, but to be honest, I think you might work the product in better without using the brush handle and using the old hands and knees method. Not easy for some, I know.
It is also great for spot cleaning rugs and upholstery.

So many flights being affected right now and holiday season is approaching, I don't see this ending well. If I wasn't being paid it would be hard to go to work and do my job properly. Scary time to fly.
