Our home is still fairly new and has an upgraded shower head which is fine for us.

Lainey I thought I would forego my once every 2 to 3 weeks shower to test it. Yep, it took all the shampoo off my getting balder every day head. Really, Donna warned me it might be much. Nope. That was refreshing on my dry-old-skin back.

^ It sounds like Dave is water conserving by his shower schedule, he doesn't need a shower head to conserve water. lol.

I know my shower head is conserving water when it takes a few seconds to adjust the temperature if it gets too hot or too cold, the temperature adjustment is not immediate, it can take up to 5 seconds to get it right. Not good when it is too hot.

Water costs next to nothing for us. We are usually subject to the minimum charge of $18.80 every 2 months. It went up last year ( I think) from $18.00/2 months.

I WANT SHOWER FLOW, DAMN IT!

Our water consumption portion is pretty low but there is a sewer surcharge portion that is often more than the water cost itself, then add in the monthly administrative charge and it adds up. The sewer charge goes up the more water you consume. They nickel and dime us to death in this Country.

Speaking of your country, I have a friend who has a cabin at McGregor Bay, ON. It is a 1/2 hour boat trip from shore to get to her place on a rock island. Her water heater had to be replaced and the bill with labor came to $5,000 plus $500 (I think in tax). She asked the installer for a receipt with a cost breakdown and he told her no. Can he do that?

Hey Dave, that is a damn expensive tank replacement but people with cottages on islands tend to attract that kind of high cost work. If it was a regular home in any community it would be under $2k. People who work in those communities charge premiums thinking everyone is rich. Asking for a breakdown of cost after the job is done is going about it the wrong way, but the contractor should still provide one, she just can't argue about the price at that point. Having it tax-in is an issue for the contractor as he needs to collect and remit taxes - 13%, so he is likely trying to avoid it. If she hired a reputable licensed contractor she should be able to get what she is asking for, some people hire unlicensed handy-men and all you get is a tail-light warranty (the warranty ends as soon as you see their tail-lights). You can complaint to the better business bureau (BBB) in that region, or ministry of consumer affairs as a last resort but many people don't go that far. I would insist on getting the receipt and breakdown, but it sounds like the deal is done and she won't have much recourse either way.

The shower in our air bnb is not to my liking. The shower head has three settings. All the water in the middle with a fair, just fair amount of pressure, one setting where the shower water comes from all sides, and another where it's a bit more concentrated. Both of those were less impressive. I had Rick leave it with the water coming from one area only. I could not reach the shower head to adjust it myself.

At home, the pressure was almost too much for the skin on my arms. We brought out an older shower head and nope, forget it. Rick cleaned the shower head we prefer and it does seem slightly less stinging. Maybe we had too much flow from a smaller area before he cleaned it?

Happy you are happy with your purchase. Maybe you can even increase your shower schedule for the benefit of those around you.

When you look at a shower head, on the back where it screws o the the spigot pipe is usually a washer with a screen. Carefully remove the washer and behind it is the restriction valve. Pull it out and put the washer back. Then screw it back on. no more restriction
