Shredder
Seems we eat these things up pretty quick ... Anyone have a good recommendation (make, model and source of supply) for a paper cross cut shredder? I'm a 1 or 2 sheet feeder at a time .... even though the ones I've had in the past say they shred more. I think one that sits on the floor like a small trash can would be OK? I recently bought a Aurora AS662C - 6 sheet (and it did credit cards) for $20 .... ... It quit after a week ....
Any Suggestions?

If you're buying a $20 shredder a week, you're spending over $1K a year on shredders.
We bought a heavy duty one (from Office Depot, I think; not their top one, but nearly) several years ago for $250 or so, and it's lasted ever since with only occasional oiling. We don't feed it anything but paper and the occasional staple, though, so that may be contributing to its lifetime. HPH

I've had a Fellowes PS-40 for 8 years.
it does refuse to shred the more than 15 sheets at a time my wife likes to feed it but other than that it still performs well within spec.
takes 8-10 with no issue.
In the future I'd like a double crosscut instead of the strip style.
although this style is great for starting fires in the fireplace.

I have a Fellows DM12Ct. It was $90 at Costco but they had a coupon for $20 off, so I paid $70. It's worked fine. The paper work says, "This product is built to shred paper, staples, small paper clips, credit cards, CDs and DVDs. It makes a confetti-cut. It says it will shred 12 sheets at a time.
Oiling the shredder is a maintenance item if it's used near capacity. Also, if you shred more than 20 minutes, it will turn itself off for 40 minutes to cool down.
