Sidewall damage question

You're going to replace it anyway, why wait?
Because tire shops are not open today and Barbara wants to go home. She can take it in to a number of places Monday morning, but there is no where for her to go locally today. The car has a donut space saver. I'm wondering if I should put that on.

If the distance is within the range of the donut you should. I don't think it's a good idea to drive on a damaged tire.v

Thanks Lainey. We would love to meet up with you guys today, but we are down the Cape. That's why I posted the question. We are trying to figure out if Barbara can drive home today or if we should stay down here till Monday to replace the tire.

It's contagious! Out on a country road today. Road was narrow, and Rick felt the guy coming head on was taking up a bit of our side of the road. He pulled in a bit hit a rock and blew out the rear tire. It sounded much worse than it was.

So glad we gave up on that "not traveling with a spare tire" plan.

Front tire removed, put on rear, spare on front. Just like it says in the owner's manual.

New tires on order. These were getting a bit worn, and yes, the wear pattern indicates an alignment is needed.

As he changed the tires, a nearby home owner stopped to ask if we needed anything. He said they could put a pit stop on the corner, as the rock has claimed many tires. Went back and looked and there were two good sized rocks that certainly were close to the edge of the road.

Just another Sunday drive in the S. No one hurt. That's all that matters.

It annoys folks when i ride my bicycle but I always take up my share of the road and don't hug the edge.
We have too many rocks sticking out like that around here except when you catch one a bike , ehhh not so good.

Not normal with correctly aligned wheels, IMHO. In over 116K miles on my S I have never seen this wear pattern.
