Some of us were wondering where the Vintage forum will be placed in the new setup. As I stated before, we don't take shocks too well so any advance heads-up from the horse's mouth on this will be appreciated too? We're braced. Thanks Erik, your sweet lil' ol' granny.

One of the behind the scenes changes is reorganizing the clubs sections of the site. I want to put all of the clubs together in a much more functional way. This includes changes to how badges work, club home pages, club galleries and club forums.

To accomplish this we are going to be better utilizing the section links we have in the header. The clubs link currently just takes you to a list of club forums. That will change and we are going to put some more structure around that.

Instead of going to a forum list, the clubs link will take you to the clubs section home page. This is a continuously updating news and information page with links to event calendars, clubs directory and assorted sundries. Each club will have both a forum and a home page. The home page is updated from forum posts and threads. The COs will be able to easily update this information and keep it current.

We are looking to put more emphasis on local club participation and with that goal in mind we are looking to make clubs more accessible to a larger group of people, not just the forum geeks S2KI is but a shell for special interest clubs to coexist within the context of a complete whole. S2KI is the binder which puts and keeps these distinct and unique communities together. That is the goal anyway.

It's hard to describe where Vintage and the other clubs will be placed because the current frame of reference will change. Right now the site is oriented around the forums list. That's going to change and so will the frame of comparison.

Each of the links in the header will open up to a distinct section of the site:

Home - The s2ki home page and site related information, news, rules, help, support, etc.

Library - The s2ki library will summarize the major FAQ topics. The relatively static information that is there now will be replaced by more dynamic information assembled by the moderators in the main s2ki forums.

Forums - The main forum index broken down by category. this is designed to provide direct access to all forums. it is assumed that people will use this when they specifically want to go to a forum. Most will use other means.

Clubs - The clubs home page including directory, event calendar, club galleries, club forums, club home pages, etc. Community Organizers will determine the content for the most part. Each club's CO will determine the content of their individual home pages. Things on the home page might include club rules, events, members, general introductions and so forth. Some clubs will have elaborate pages and some will have nothing but some introductory information. That choice is up to each club.

Gallery - The main photo gallery. members will be able to submit photos for inclusion and this will be managed and moderated by a specific team.

Marketplace - News and information about new products, promotions and specs. Links to the new group buy system, classifieds, vendor lists, the S2KI store. Basically anything related to the buying and selling of products and services. Commercial posting in the main forums will become off limits to all and instead vendors will post commercial messages to the Marketplace home page (with editorial approval).

Search - Much the same as it is now.

MyS2K - Your personal navigation page. Subscribed thread and forums, PMs, email, preferences, membership options, personal galleries, etc. Much like it is now but better organized. The start button is going away. It is replaced by the new MyS2K section.

Hope that helps.
