Default Snacking?

I tend to snack, nibble, quite often. Like an infant, I need food every few hours.

I TRY to keep it low fat. Pretzels, fat free chocolate pudding, a bag of microwave popcorn (100 calorie), fruit, a small bowl of cereal, but sometimes those things just don't do it for me, and even low fat, low calorie snacks do add up. I also keep a dish of M & M's in the house and grab a handful or two daily. Gotta have the chocolate. That is my weakness.

I just had two slices of pineapple. 60 calories. For another 40, I could have had one of the snack bags of popcorn and a lot more food. Fruit just doesn't seem to be a "real snack."

I know weight maintenance is easier if I don't snack after dinner, but sometimes I'm hungry, not just snacking for the sake of snacking.

So, are you a snacker? What's your weakness?

Lainey, i think we all have the same problem. For me this evening it was a serving of pistachios! Damm those hit the spot. Nuts are one of my go to snacks ya they are high in fat but it is mono-unsaturated. So no big deal there. As long as its kept to a serving size it fits in as an under 200 calorie snack/meal for me. The pistachios were 170 calories and as a bonus I have to work for them. It was 48 nuts thats had to be de-shelled so they are eaten slow and savored.

Ritter Sport has been showing up in all the supermarkets in my area recently, and Target also had a great selection of Ritter Sport chocolate last time I was there.

Favorite snack food is beef jerky. It has to be from Robertsons in Salato TX. IMHO they make the best. I order from the factory.

ALDI always has Ritter Sport. I get German bread, and sometimes white Spargel, canned sausages, other bigger and perhaps better choco bars, and sometimes Bahnsen cookies, and Lebkuchen around X-Mas time there.

I will snack on pretzels, but I'm a fruitaholic snacker. I'm sure I overdo it, and it's good that fruit is often pricey.

Dates or toblerone. Or even a nice soft blue cheese.

Bad snacks today. 1/2 glazed donut and then someone offered me cookies. I can't say no to cookies.

I see broiled fish in my immediate future.............as in that's what will be for dinner tonight.
