Default Sneaky spending!

Have you ever done a bit of "sneaky spending"? I'm sure we all have....

Twenty nine percent of people in a committed relationship admitted to lying to their partner about their spending habits, according to a Harris Interactive survey of 1,796 people ages 25-55.

Women were slightly more likely than men to be dishonest; according to the 2005 survey, 33 percent of women had something to hide, as opposed to 26 percent of men.

Some of these people are very, very bad...

sneaky spending

Yeah, being single isn't bad. The best part is coming and going as I please. No questions asked. No explanations. I don't answer to anyone but me when I spend money, but I do have to tell myself that it's okay to buy those shoes, 'cuz they are on sale.

The upside to a wife's "little excesses" (complete kitchen & Living room remodel) is the husband now has some leverage when he "needs" new toys!

No problem. We both discuss any purchases either of us plan to make so there are no surprises. We earned incomes when we worked and discussed any purchases and we do the same in retirement. We are very careful now that the economy is sagging. One of the biggest causes of marital problems is finances.

We lived in Morocco for over 5 years. My wife knew all of the vendor's, or should I say they all knew her. I didn't realize how much she bought in those 5 years, until we moved. Leather, brass, copper, carpets, you name it, we had it.

I don't recall either of us ever having issues with the other's spending. We are both on the same planet when it comes to that. We blow money on our hobbies and generally talk out all the other stuff.
