...and I still haven't checked my donut. Gotta go put a sticky on my door to the garage, to remind my mind.

tires are pretty good these days and you rarely get a flat.
when you do you obviously need your spare to work.

don't be a dummy like I was some years back when my donut failed 30 feet from where I mounted because the pressure was low.

maintain your spare tire pressure , it's real easy to ignore.
I just checked my donut. It had 27 lbs. I made it 60 like it said to. Thanks for the thread, Jerry.

I guess the RAV is next. At least the spare is on the back and not hidden away in the trunk.

I saw a guy in an old Taurus pulling out of the Home Depot in Hixson a while back with 3 donuts on his car and one stock wheel on the left front. I guess he only has two friends.
I think I saw a relative of your man driving a '66 Chev. Impala down the interstate with four donuts on! And he passed me doing 75 mph!

Another future Darwin award winner.

Well, I finally got around to checking my spare (it's been many years) and it was down to 30#; thanks for the reminder, it's now 60#.

I know some of you don't travel with a spare but I still find it a nice place to store stuff in addition to being there if I should need it. I took a few pictures of what I travel with inside the wheel.

Here's the Inventory:
In the wife's old purse: jack base, jack handle, lug wrench & tow bolt.
In the soft plastic container: Robo grip, power grip, flash light, 2 batteries, 2 pens, ankle sock, racing tire gauge, blue & white paper towels, mirco towel, suntan lotion, car/hand soap, owners manual, maintenance history, shop rag.
In the tool wrap: Open/box: 8,10,11,12,13,14,15,17,19. Offset: 10,11,12,13,14,15. 3/8", 9/16"
Loose: Qt Mobil 1 & funnel.

It wraps up like this.

And stores like this.
