Unless you have a child who has chosen this type of career, it is hard to describe the emotions or to explain why every morning, you check the computer to see how many sons/daughters will not be coming home and how it breaks your heart for someone's mother whose child is not coming home again. Yet, I take comfort in knowing this is what he's chosen and it means a great deal to him to serve the United States of America in the Army. He knows we love him and that we are proud of who he is and what he does.
Very well said, and I definitely know how you feel. I'm so proud to be the parent of a U.S. Soldier, but so afraid of what could happen to him in the blink of an eye. My heart swells with pride at the sight of our Flag, and breaks everytime I see a soldier's empty boots by his rifle. The price we pay for our freedom.

[QUOTE=Jumpy Guy,Oct 25 2006, 01:50 PM] After reading posts from Spokes Man and Valentine I realized that at least two of our Vintage members have sons or daughters fighting in Iraq. I personally would love to send cards of thanks to these kids and let them know we
