Default It spring!

In MA we have had a pretty nice spring. That is not often the case. Generally April and May are pretty wet months. Living near the ocean often brings cool breezes off the ocean waters which have not yet warmed.

Some of you live in the land of "never ending summer." For those of us living where we have four seasons, spring, when it finally appears after a long winter can be pretty

I went for a walk after work today. It was beautiful. Temps in the 60's and a slight breeze. Spring means the turtle necks and extra layers of clothing can get packed away for another season. I didn't need a jacket on my walk, always a great feeling in the spring.

Many of our flowering trees are in bloom. It was the SMELL of spring that made me feel so good today. This is one of my favorites smells of spring. The lilac. I have one in my backyard.

Often times you can smell the lilac tree before you see it. You might even have to look around to see where the smell is coming from. That's what happened as I was walking today.

While I was walking, I was noticing all the trees that were flowering, and smelling the lilac trees. I also had a moment where it came to me that I was thankful to be alive, and healthy, and I realized that any troubles I might think I have are nothing compared to what I know a few folks are dealing with. My thoughts were with them.

For me, with spring came a reminder. Life IS pretty good.

Surprising, how much a short distance,(+/-400 miles...) makes that much of a difference...

Here, today,it was 25*C.,but,there are still no leaves,in the lilac trees.
Theuy will bloom, second,or third week of June...

Let's move down south,asap...

Greetings from Ottawa, Ontario this evening. Today was a lovely spring day here about 22*C (about 74*F). One of my contacts here was asking how I was enjoying the spring day here in Ottawa? I mentioned that the conditions are about a month behind home in Northern Virginia. I went on to add that this was my third spring this year. Two weekends ago I was at SF08 in Seven Springs and then last weekend out on eastern Long Island, now up here in Ottawa. The tulips are in full bloom and so are my allergies

Pollen and allergies, the downside of spring.

Very nice this week. A little windy the past two days, but the grass is really green finally.

Great time of year! The weather is fantastic. Yesterday I took the pool filter all apart for spring cleaning and then shocked the pool. Water temp is ideal, so Nick and I are going for a swim after school today.

It rained a lot over the weekend so we came home to a wet basement. The weather is nice but drier would be better. Since we lost a tree (50+ tall) over the winter, I was thankful it didn't come down. But wet is better than too dry so all in all, I am happy.

^ Lots of peeps had flooding problems in the DC area. It has sidetracked the restoration company from finishing up the condo. Been a month now. Just have the carpet left to put down, clean. Maybe next week?

Weather overall has been nice here, though. We walked up the street for dinner last night.
