Spring Fling Seminars
I thought that this might be a good time for those of us conducting the seminars at the Spring Fling to give a brief overview of what each seminar is about. I'll start with mine. I hope everyone conducting a seminar will add to this thread. Also, if there is anything specific anyone wants to see in any of the seminars, please request it here.
"Changing your oil and what's that thing under my hood"
Originally, I was going to ask for volunteers, people who had never changed oil and filter before, to help change my oil. I thought that this would be a good way to introduce people who have never done any maintenance on their cars to the joys of it. And since I change my oil almost every other day (or so it seems) anyway, this would serve two purposes. Unfortunately, the Inn doesn't want us to do that in their lot, so my seminar is going to be a little different than originally planned.
My seminar is strictly for beginners, and I welcome any help from our more experienced members. I am going to bring tools, filters, fuses and all of the other things that you need to know about to do minor maintenance and easy roadside repairs. My goal is to introduce those of you who don't ever look under the hood to the tools, techniques and joys of doing it yourself. You really don't need to pay others or wait in line to have some of the simple things done, and it really is fun to do it yourself.
Part of the fun of owning a sportscar is driving it, part of the fun is maintaining it. Hopefully, this seminar will introduce some of you to the maintaining it side. I'm hoping some of our members and +1s will attend. This stuff is good to know.

Just as well that we can't to the oil change seminar in the parking lot .. I wasn't sure how you were going to manage to turn the engine over to dump out the oil there in the parking lot anyway !!

But seriously, are you going to discuss sucking the oil out of the engine as an option ?
