Thanks, Val.

Change smoke alarm batteries too if your detectors are not hard wired!

We forgot to do that last fall and when the batteries were going dead, we had the early AM awakening from the smoke detector...that always makes you even if you realize the problem.

My Dad used to have a habit of changing the clocks so early in the day/evening, it drove my Mom nuts. Vintage folks are always prompt with getting things done.

Haven't changed ours yet.

I just replaced all of my detectors.
turns out they were made in '89 and recalled in 92, 7 years before we bought the house.
Manufacturer replaced em all, no charge.

Mine are hardwired, but have a battery backup. I used to change the batteries every year, but now I change them when they begin to chirp. The one in the MBR began to chirp today, so it is changed. Sometimes the batteries last more than two years.

actually it was a case of one of the mounting brackets had broken.
I went looking for wiring diagrams to replace it and lo and behold found a recall notice.

So 20 years after they were manufactured, I got freebies.

But I will add, aside from checking the batteries, check the model numbers for recalls.
You never know what you'll find.

Don't forget to change your S2KI board settings to reflect DST.

Nothing like the old clocks that set themselves that are not on the new date structure for DST.

Firmware upgrades are not an option for them either.

I like DST but I dislike the change. At work I will have approximately 30 timing devices (not including wall clocks) that will need to be changed.

Why can't we just pick one time or the other and stay there
