The cost of even cheap seats (matinee's) is almost $8 and for 2 medium sodas and medium popcorn, get out your 20's cause it will be more than $10. So for 2 adults it will cost you almost $30. I can buy several dvd's for that price or an HD/DVD for that money and watch the movie as many times as I wish. Or you can Netflix/Blockbuster the same movie for allot less. I see that Netflix and Blockbuster sell their used DVD's for about $5, that could get you 6 movies for the same price, you just have to see them later.

I go to the movies about 5 times a year. I will go to see the big bidget special effects movies. Thai is where the value of the ticket price is best realized. Otherwise, i watch movies at home when they come out on On Demand.

How can you NOT eat popcorn at the movies? If I plunk down the money for a ticket, I'm buying the too. Make that the

If you're too cheap, bring your own, in a big handbag.

I hope to also see the new Harry Potter movie at some point. It sounds rather ominous with less big budget CGI and alot of doom and gloom at Hogwarts.

Love going to the movies - I have since college. Can't wait for Harry Potter, want to go see Transformers. The new Adam Sandler/Kevin James move looks funny also. We just saw Live Free or Die Hard (Bruce Willis), and it was pretty good.

Wife and daughter are leaving town this weekend to go to CA. I'll probably take the opportunity to go see whatever testosterone-laced blow-em-up is showing.

Oh yeah, I just bought "Lean and Mean Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich. Another Stephanie Plum book. So between the movies and the new book, my weekend is pretty well set.

Do I know how to party or what???

Years ago, I took care of the plants in this mutiplex theatre in an upper income area in N.VA. The theatre was absolutely filthy. Needless to say, we don't go to theatres any more. I mean at night you can't see the dirt, spilled drinks and roaches!!
