I got some blue ones to match my S2K. Got a similar blue pair for the wife, too. Stupid little square things. Very COOL, though.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. This Saturday I am going to my "glasses" store and will see what there is to see.

I currently have brown sunglasses and have been pretty happy with them. I'm going to print out this thread and ask about your suggestions.

Thanks again.

For everyday use - I think the Maui Jim rose is the ultimate lens color.

This is coming from a total sunglasses whore - I have 3 pr. of Maui Jims, 2 pair of Revo, 2 pr. RayBans, 4 pr. Serengeti and I don't even know what others...

I asked the Optometrist and the Optician about the color today. Both of them said that Neutral Grey is the best color for driving. The next best color is brown.

When I asked why they told me that Brown increases the contrast of some colors, particularly red. That could be beneficial for driving. But, neutral grey simply reduces the amount of light passing through the lens to the eye without changing the colors. For that reason, both felt that the grey was the better choice. Both thought that for driving, colors should be seen as they are.

I am having a pair of neutral grey made which I should have by next Friday (progressive bifocals so they are not in stock). I will post my impressions then.

The only glasses I wear are prescription: progressive multi-focals that darken in the sun, in neutral (photo) grey. They don't distort color and darken so much I don't need sunglasses, even with the top down here in AZ. They are glass, not plastic, and so darken more. This combo has been satisfactory for me for several years.

Ralper, I really have to agree with your optometrist. I have a brown tinted polarized pair that I use when sailboat racing and a grey tinted polarized pair when I drive.

The brown tinted ones enhance red, green, and black color separation. This I find useful in spotting the turning marks used in sailboat races from as far away as possible.

The grey ones I leave in the S2000. What really matters for driving is the clarity of the lenses. Separating bogeys from friendlies from a distance is most critical.

Well, I just got my Serengeti rose colored glasses. I am very pleased with them. They have a rose colored metallic tint which darkens as needed. The glasses make everything appear brighter without distorting or changing the color of anything. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Serengeti's.
