Default Super Bowl

The big game is just 3 hours away and I've got some time to kill. Do people really watch any of that pre-game crap. I'll turn on my set at 6:17 and not a minute before.

Perfection sounds nice, but we don't need to see it in real life. Secretly or openly, most of us will root for the New York Giants to beat perfection today.

Right-thinking Americans normally cheer for any New York team to lose, since too often they simply have bought their way to the top. But this game is different. Who really wants to see public displays of perfection. Every time I emerge from the men's room with zipper down, or stick my foot in my mouth in one of these threads, I am reminded that Nobody's perfect. So, really, do we want Mr Perfect, Tom Brady, and the Almost-Perfect New England Patriots to go against human nature. Really.

Americans love the under dog. Has there every been a bigger one than the Giants?

May the best team lose.

I'm not a football fan and I didn't care who won. I didn't even watch the game when the Seahawks were in the Superbowl a few years ago.

But I turned on the game late in the 4th quarter, and I surprised myself by realizing I was hoping the Patriots would win. They didn't.

What a GREAT game. I've have seen every Super Bowl ever played (42) and in spite of all the "hype" the majority of them have been "stink-o's". Usually the playoffs leading up to the big game are the best. But this one was something........ Who would have believed it if they had not seen it. My hat's off to the Pats for a wonderful season and to the Giants defense which was unreal.
