Default Suspension

What, if anything can I do to soften my ride? Sometimes it feels like a buckboard on the pot-holed streets I drive. Would changing out the shocks/struts (don't even know what we have) But would new and improved ones (whatever they are) help?

You have struts in the S Angela but beyond that I can't help you. Most of the products you will find for the S will be to stiffen, not soften

I understand from some people that the AP2 is for "sissies" and is a softer ride... although you coulda fooled me. The first time I drove one I thought it was the harshest suspension I had ever felt!

So maybe you'd like to trade cars? I really wanted a Suzuka anyway And that 9K redline will be much better on track

Take it to a dealer, let them look at it. One or more of your shocks may
have gone out. Sounds like this is a recent thing, if so you would probably want to go back with the oem shocks.

Another possibility is to call Truechoice and order coil overs. Talk to Philip and he can send you a softer set of springs and with the adjustible shocks, you shoud be able to find the ride you like.
Good luck, Rich

Well thanks Dash. I used to love the feel of the road on my butt but that was before Prep H and my false teeth started to rattle.

Not ready to give her up just yet though. While I have you here, does that 1K really make that much difference on the track (or the road for that matter)?

I hit redline too many times on track until I got Modifry's redline beeper installed You can set your own rpm and it beeps 3 times as you hit each increment... for me it's 7000, 7300 and 7700 or thereabouts. When it beeps the 3rd time you KNOW you have to either shift up or slow down

More power longer is better on larger tracks with elevation changes (like the Glen) and some corners at other tracks (like the bowl at NH with a sharp turn uphill).

Someday I will be in a high enough group on track I can take you for a ride Granny

Uh, no thank you, Dashy! Not at 7700. I get nervous around 5 or 6 when that engine starts screaming. I'll bet you're really something out there though.

Maybe it would be a good idea to check for the shipping blocks in the springs. My car had 58,000 miles on it when I bought it and it still had the shipping blocks in the springs! Amazing how the handling changed when we took them out.
