Hi Darlene I'm back from vacation, and heading off to Minnesota in two days. Trying to catch up at work. Glad to hear I rocked your corner of the world today.

Hmm... So we have some info dating back to 2000/2001, some from Jan 04, and other info undated... Basically while we know the locations of points of interest, we have zero indication of any timeframe for an attack. Therefore, will this hightened security status be perpetual? Should people stay home for the next several weeks/months until the DHS determines whether or not there really is a plot?

Since this information dates back to 2000 and Ridge said that the information gave specific targets, does that mean that Condoleeza Rice lied to the 9/11 commission when she said that there were no specific threats?

I guess I'm unclear about this. I thought the information from the terrorists that they just recently obtained dated back to the years 2000-2001. In other words, they just busted some folks that had information about some prospective targets and the date of the information the bad guys had dated back to 2000 or 2001. I wasn't even sure if that meant the terrorists had the info since 2000 or 2001, or if that was just the date of the information and we didn't really know when the terrorists obtained the information. I don't think I have seen anything that says the information that Ridge is relying upon to issue a high alert was in his hands since 2000 or 2001.

No, that is incorrect. When she said that, we did not know that this information existed. It was recovered only recently. So while it's been around for a while, it's news to us.
