I will not try to make this political. But do you remember how you felt on the morning of September 12, 2001?

Thanks for the link, Matt... it is very sobering, like your pix of your ticket. We will forever remember where we were when we first heard the news of the 9/11 attack... like we will when President Kennedy was assassinated.

I was at work, "locked" inside the prison, with 3400+ inmates and 250+ officers and staff. No staff was going to be going anywhere until further notice... we were in a "Lock-down". Normally, I go through 5 gates and doors, all of which are locked behind me... before I get to my desk as a clerical. But that day; I was walking across the compound through the midst of an emergency inmate movement (they were all re-called back to their respective housing units), when one I called 'Red Shoes' (because he always wore red tennis shoes)... stopped and told me "They've Attacked America by flying a plane into one of the twin towers!" Little did I/we know what was still to come!

I've never doubted that God places me where He wants me... but I did have serious conversations with Him as I tried to get back to my unit without running! The feeling of 'powerlessness' was overwhelming, and I surely didn't want to 'go' from that location. I, like everyone else wanted to be with my loved ones, but besides Jay, my only family is in Seattle, Los Angeles and Miami. As the news of the attacks grew and worsened, and the days turned into months... my pride in our President grew, too. What a horrible job to have, in a horrible time... but he made me prouder than ever whenever I saw him ministering to victims, volunteers and families all across America. I am even more proud when I know that he won't let America go down without a fight. If I was of a 'recruitable' age, I would have enlisted... but because I am Vintage, I will serve my country at my Homeland location. At work I am trained to be aware of my surroundings, and it is something that I carry with me at all times. It is amazing how much goes on under our noses that we don't/can't see... it is almost a joke!

Pray for our President... he is praying for us!

MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS AMERICA, BECAUSE HE HAS ABUNDANTLY BLESSED US SINCE THE DAY OF OUR INCEPTION. AND, MAY WE NEVER GIVE HIM CAUSE TO SAY HE NEVER KNEW US!

WOW, Hunz -- you've hit on something some of us often take for granted -- I became very, very scared and a little angry when my son had to go to Afghanistan. I became very, very upset with him when he volunteered for Iraq (as did my now retired Marine brother) . . . and I PRAYED. It is so easy for me to sit on my relatively safe seat of do-nothing and criticize the administration because those I love have their lives in jeopardy. However, prayer for those who make the decisions about war, terrorism, etc. is something we all can do.
