Stephen, actually asked to stay in the haunted room so that he would have the best inspiration for his book. There was a TV special on it a while back.

Americas most haunted hotels i think was the name.

If you ever come to maine and look at his house you will swear the hous eis haunted just by looking at it.

In the (relatively few) location shots in the movie, they carefully avoided putting the McDonalds in the frame, as I recall. HPH
