I just got passed a couple minutes ago by a Smart Fourtwo. That's what I would like to have for city driving.

Could you fit in one? I doubt if it would be comfortable for you. Sorry!

You would be better off with a Civic. Better gas mileage and it's practical. The MPG for the Smart for two is 32MPG.

^^^ He sounds like a car guy, Dave!

Are we to think that China is slowly moving into a four-wheeler age while in the US we are regressing back to mini two-wheelers?

I think if I were to go for another motorized two wheeler, I'd still want a vehicle powerful enough to get me out of trouble when I needed some grunt to avoid disaster!

Bill, IMO I think a scooter should be out of the question. Sure gas is going up and up but when you compare the cost of a gallon of fuel to what you are earning is it really worth taking a chance.

Mr. Bill,

I have had a 1982 C70 Honda Passport for three or four years now. I have only put 900 miles on it since I bought it. It is not quite alternate transportation. It runs 48 - 50 MPH downhill, about 45 MPH on level ground, and 28 MPH uphill. It is just a fun toy. I think I would get more use out of a little bigger scooter like the 250cc Honda Helix or Reflex.

We are in a suburb about 25 miles out of downtown Atlanta so the traffic is a bit intimidating here. Maybe in a more rural setting it would be more useful, but it would take a while to cover any distance.

I don't know much about scooters or motorcycles, but what about a moped? They are like scooters but they also have pedals so you can ride it even without gas. Do they still make those?
