Tim Tebow
I'm not much of a football fan. I follow Virginia Tech football because Adam is a student there. I follow Rutgers football because my other son, Andrew, graduated from there. And, because I grew up in Brooklyn, I'm a lifelong Jets fan. That alone disqualifies me from any serious discussion about football.
For some reason, which I can't explain either, I've followed Tim Tebow's career. Most everyone acknowledges that he's a good man. Unfortunately, being a good man does not qualify a person to play football in the NFL. After he was released by the Broncos, Tim found a place with the Jets. The Jets, unfortunately treated him very shabbily and it was clear that he would have to find another team at the end of last season. After his release from the Jets, no other team picked him up. The Patriots gave him a legitimate tryout this summer, but cut him before the beginning of the season.
Tebow dreams of being an NFL quarterback, but it is clear that he simply doesn't have the talent to play that position at the NFL level. This morning I read an article stating that another team is interested in him but only if he agrees to change position. So far Tebow has declined claiming that he wants to be a quarterback. Unless he accepts the change of position, it appears that his NFL career is over.
I don't understand why, at the risk of not having an NFL career, he refuses to change positions. I think if I were in his shoes I'd be willing to play any position that gave me a shot at playing in the NFL.
What do you think?

I totally agree with you. When Tim was playing for the Broncos he became an uplifting spirit and the Bronco’s team arose to the occasion to protect and block for him whenever he QB’d. He was good as a running back but only lucky in the passing game. Being from the Denver area I can state that he was VERY well liked as a Bronco. Tim was humble and gracious -- a personality you couldn’t help but to approve of and embrace.
Was he a good QB? Denver's consensus was “No”, but we still loved him. He could be much better as a running back.
Now Denver has a new love…Payton Manning, another class act.
Thanks, Indianapolis! Gary from Denver
I'm from St Augustine Florida and have watched Tim play since High School.. he's a good kid.. he was taught the game of football well and has a good natural ability.. he could play any position well... He wants to be a quarterback.. it isn't an easy road to pick.. if it were we'd all be quarterbacks???? no.. we'd try to be what position we thought we enjoyed.. where we felt we fit... this isn't what some coach sees.. this isn't what some fan thinks.. it's what dream do you follow... follow that dream... even if you have to take a few hits getting there... go for it Tim..
too be honest, I just about freaked when the Jets picked up Tebow.
I had nightmare images of Kordell Stewart / Slash scenario playing out with the Jets.
He's got the physique and speed to be able do it.
When the Pats picked him up, my heart soared for the very same reason.
Just Imagining what Bellichek could cook up gave me tingles.
Imagine Tebow lining up behind Gronk and Hernandez wide right. Defenders would be having fits.
NOPE ain't gonna happen, ( aside from the whole AH debacle )
Instead of being the guy defense coordinators have nightmares over, Tebow just wants to be a quarterback.

^^ I agree, Tebow IMO was never a very good QB after college.
And Tebow's maudlin little public prayers on the field were always offensive to me. I think the Bible says to go into your closet and pray in secret, rather than demonstratively praying for all to see that 'God is on Your side'.
For visual prayer I like Albrecht Dürer's uncomplicated 'Betende Hände' much better.
