I am going to suck so bad this year, but I guess I'll have an excuse.
If you lived down here your time off from golf would be timed perfectly. Almost too hot to play until late September but no reason to stop again until late next June. Plus memberships and green fees are generally a lot lower here.

My motorcycle dealer is off of 93 north. it's 4th off july weekend. so we got an early start.
The good news is I was bringing it home and heading south.
The dealer is 48 miles from me, so rt 495 and then rt 93. give it 10 miles of local roads.
The traffic going northbound was stop and go for all 38 other miles.

Were you riding it or trailering it?
If you check out BaT Jerry, you can see my bids on a Bugeye Sprite. It seemed like the other guy wanted it more and I had reservations. Not about the car, but about getting it here and finding a place to keep it.

I rode it home. Several notes to expand on.
I clearly understand the space conundrum.
I clearly understand the bugeye and associated reservations. Not sure about that color.
I guess the days of finding a $150 barn car are over.

as for the ride.
I am fairly sure this is a very quick bike. That exploration has yet to occur. Redline is 14k, I may have hit 4k.
I haven't even approached the right key never mind gotten it on full song.
30 years does an awful job of erasing muscle memory. Especially slow corners and clutch work.
This bike is light enough to make mistakes/stumbles and be able to hold it up.
Highway riding was an interesting way to have my first riding, 1st gear redlines around 90 mph.
I was dawdling along in 4,5 and 6th. cracking my wrist at 65-ish brought 80 almost instantly.
To a degree it was a little difficult to regulate speed, with an ever so slight change in wrist pressure I'd bounce between 60 and 80.
ABS and Wheelie control was set at full stern nanny. It was remarkably sensitive to wind pressure with a lot of buffeting from trucks etc.
Speaking of muscles,,, I am acutely aware of several new muscle groups.
I haven't isolated it down to a specific muscle or joint but my hips are seriously peeved with me.
My legs, arms, and shoulders aren't far behind.
Of course it was 94° yesterday, My new, Vanson heavy duty leather riding coat was actually that bad.
I certainly didn't have to worry hypothermia from windchill.

Jerry, do I have this right? You still have the bike you crashed on? It has been repaired? SWMBO is okay with this?

I remember after I broke my FZ in the first time I opened it up initially I thought that's it which lasted for a nanosecond as I then hit the powerband and it just about pulled my arms out of their sockets. That was when I really learned what a powerband was.

SWMBO not thrilled but we trust each other enough to allow the other to make stupid decisions.
It is mostly repaired. the only real operational damage was the external shifter linkage which was bent.
Otherwise mostly minor scratches on covers, aero pieces and such.
I am not really afraid of anything but I'll admit to some trepidation before the ride home.
