Jim, sorry to take you away from the family for this. Things were heating up and I wanted you to get on the podium.

It seems to me that between you and Lainey there is agreement to keep the political discussion in the politics sub forum. Lainey has no interest in moderating that forum. Can we assume that you want to do it, or do you have other thoughts?

Has anyone thought of encouraging some of the newer Vintage members to serve as a co-CO? This would be a good way to get new, fresh ideas into the Vintage Forum and associated activities, and it would counter the allegation that this group is too much of a clique.

Also, if Lainey stays, we would still have an experienced hand at CO.

Dennis, along the way, I believe Bill has mentioned to folks that the nominations were open. Folks could also express interest by PM. I don't think the interest was there. The CO position was not limited to those who have been around here for a while.

I love the Idea. I think that fresh ideas are positive for this forum specially to help fuse new members with the older crowd, (to teach new members what Vintage is all about)
In my area the big problem I see is that the population of S2K owners is very young so they

Still I hope other people who are interested will also speak up and let the members know.
Nope, sorry, you're it!

Edit: Forgive me, I posted that before I read that others may really be interested. By all means.....

If someone is interested in the office, they really should speak up. When I talked to Jim about this, I told him that the door would be open to any person who is interested in the post. Jim understands that completely.

In the past, members have thrown out the names of other members on the nomination thread. It is always fun to throw out another person's name, and it is always flattering to see that others think you would make a good leader. But about 95% of the names thrown out have no interest in the position and it ends up taking two weeks to get through all the nominations and declinations. I think if someone wants to do it, they should step up and say "I will do it."

All that said, I did ask several people if they had any interest and Jim said he would consider the post. Subsequently, this weekend, he confirmed his interest in the job. If others are interested, please speak up now. I think it would be cool to have an election.

If others are not interested, then I think we just need to discuss Jim and decide if we support him. A CO cannot operate without the support of the group. We all have to get behind the CO to keep Vintage moving in the right direction.

I agree but as most of the people who have responded in this thread have met each other believe that the best choice is reflected already Jim you have my support .

It's my choice to be an internet Vintage member. Chances are I'll never attend a Vintage event unless it's in the Fla Keys. Just don't forget those of us who you probably won't see at a Vintage event.

Anyway you're a warm body with a desire to serve, recomended by people whose opinion I respect. If I'm ever out of line, let me know I back off easily.

Legalbill I thought the job you did was superb.

Thank You
