I too am retired but would prefer if we stayed on standard time rather than DST. I really do not prefer the later sunsets. I like being outside, but I like being outside in the morning hours more than evening. As someone mentioned, it has to do with the place I live and it is simply too hot to enjoy late evenings outside.

 

And if you've ever been in the regions farthest form Beijing, you know how strange it is getting up at 0700 and not having dawn sunshine for three to four hours.

 

Ken, I can't imagine if you were in the northern extremes in winter.
In Sweden, It bugged me that 11:00 even though the sun was 'up' it was still a pretty dim light.
