Here's my new toy. It's not quite as nice as it appears; for example, the gearbox is terrible. Still not sure about the engine as I've only been able to keep it running for a total of 15 miles! Replaced the fuel pump yesterday but even the new one doesn't want to work. My plans are to replace all the mechanicals - engine, gearbox, rear end, convert the front brakes from drum to disc, etc. . . all the usual stuff to have a car that I can drive anywhere in the country.
Looks good

Keep us informed of the progress

Dave,

Looks gorgeous on the outside. So, in this case, beauty is skin deep?

Good luck getting it in full working order!

Dave, your car looks geat. It made me think of the Austin Healey 3000 that I almost bought, but never did.

Back in my younger days I had a lot of seat time in AH3000's and Jag E-Types. Although both were owned by friends I drove both a lot (and at their limits in places with no speed limits). Little did we know back then they would be sought after like they are.

You said it. But, I knew what I was buying and all that really matters in Old British car's is a really solid rust free chassis, as that's what really sucks up the bucks and time. This car had that. BTW I did get the pump working & drove it some today.

Welcome back, Carlos!!

OK, guys, I'm unpinning this thread. Feel free to keep blipping it up to the top once in a while. I'd like to see everyone pop in a message once in a while.

Best wishes!
