Default Totally Awesome TV

I looked and ordered an LG OLED flat screen with HDR. We walked into a comparison room filled with all the best of Sony, Samsung etc. One TV stood out miles above the others in picture quality. I have never seen a picture as good as that one. I guess infinite black OLED combined with High Dynamic Range imaging is the way to go.

Nothing else came close.

Cool! Technology changes so much with T.V.s it always seems like something new is coming down the pike just when you think it can't get any better it does.

Video explaining: Looks almost 3-D in this with video that really highlights B&W but I'm curious what difference (if any) it makes in regular programs?

Dave

I looked at all of them in 720 1080 and 4k from both a cable and a blueray source. Picture was better than all others. In addition the upscaler (converts to 4k from hd) didn't have the jitter you could see when you got close to the screen like Sony and Samsung SUHD did.

Most impressive was the color and the depth of picture. It was extraordinary.

I'm sold.

I installed it this morning. I am nothing but happy. It replaced Samsung's best 55". Color, definition and motion are much better even with upscaling. I threw on some 4k HDR content and that was night and day above UHD. The entire spectrum improved equally.

I'm playing with my Nikon now to see how it shows pictures.

Good for you, Grant. Before too much time passes I want to replace the 42" Samsung I have in the sitting room for at least a 55". I've been wavering on getting another Samsung because our Sony in Jim's den has a much better quality picture. Samsung, however has been nothing but good to me. We had a severe storm and somehow lightening came in on our cable line and damaged our Samsung that was still in warranty. I called Samsung and was totally honest about the problem. They sent a technician who replaced all the damaged components. Within two days after the storm, our Samsung was back up and running. I've just been thinking I'd like a bigger screen.
