To be honest, on one hand I wish I had not watched it as the images are now stuck in my head. On the other hand I can really appreciate the procedure and why the days following it are going to be so critical.

I'm actually off to a annual Good Friday beer/brats/cards/ping pong turnament/pool tournament that has been held by a friend at work for 39 years straight years. Bottoms up!

A friend of mine had this done and he had no problems with it. They did the transplant on one of this eyes first and then about 4 - 5 years later
they did the other eye. Prior to the surgery he wore very thick contacts and now his vision is fine.

I have a friend that had cornea transplants on both of his eyes, well over 10 years ago. He had his done at Will's Eye Hospital in Phila. He has very few issues.

Thanks all for the encouraging feedback. The wife is planning to call Monday and set up the surgery for April 25th.

That's good news. I'm glad they can schedule this so soon. My wife's hip replacement was scheduled over four months out and they told her that was the earliest date. Then a cancellation came up and they moved her up a month. Still, my wife had way too much time to sit a fret about the procedure. The sooner the better.

Dave, I have floaters and flashers but it does not have anything to do with cataracts. Mine is caused by the detachment of the vitreous from the retina.

Eye Floaters: Laser Treatment, Symptoms, Causes

Do cataracts cause this as well?

My mistake. I just made an assumption. After reading the article (more than I want to know), I understand why my eye doctor told me to call him immediately no matter where I was; out of state, or whatever; if things went bonggers in that eye.

There's not a long waiting list for that type of surgery. Actually they could do it as soon as April 11th but that's our anniversary.

Sorry for the long delay for your wife; that certainly plays on a person's mind. For myself, I just busted mine off and they had to do it the next day. Missed a step on a ladder.
