Commitment is between you and your +1 - the paper is irrelevant.

to reason! Chris and I did the same for several years (Chris' mom had a German phrase for the arrangement ) -- until we decided to make some kids, so it made sense to get the paper arranged. We had a ceremony in the Rice Chapel.

I would love to host a party for you guys in CO if people would come! But I guess Vegas has more neons!

OK...update!! I've changed the title to this thread. It appears that the +1 and I are not going to make our union official anytime soon. Mostly because it doesn't make sense from a tax/economic perspective. I think we are going to buy the rings and wear them as a sign of our commitment without the paper. But we can still have a party in Vegas or wherever!!
Who needs a marriage recognized by the state? As I have said before, I am sure that as our duly elected COs that Dean and Jim can confer upon me the power to solemnize marriages in Vintage. I will perform the service at the meet of your choice. Imagine a lovely ceremony in the presence of all your Vintage buddies!

Hmmm...a possibility. Not sure all the Vintage buddies would want to include that in a meet, though.
