Default Vacation Plans 2011

Working the vacation plans for 2011. Just booked a trip for us to Charleston, SC for a few days at the end of March to celebrate our "anniversary". We will be staying at a lovely B&B called The Governor's House Inn, and will FINALLY be visiting with Val and her sweetie pie.

Also on the agenda are the +1's son's HS graduation the beginning of June (FL), and a visit to Boston for the ceremony aboard the USS CONSTITUTION when our friend becomes Commanding Officer of the ship in July.

We've rented a house in Maine for July and we have a trip to Phoenix planned for either late spring or early fall. There has been some noise made by my MiL about taking a cruise in a few months. I can't wait to be trapped on a boat with a bunch of strangers. I don't drink or gamble. I don't like theater. And I'm pretty sure the captain won't let me fish off the deck.

^Don't they let you hit golf balls off the stern? Even if you don't golf, what the hell, give it a shot. HPH

Possible road trip to NC or SC late April. No concrete plans at this time.

I have no idea if they do or not. I can't stand golf. Even if I was able to swing a golf club, which I'm fairly certain I'm not, I can't envision doing it for a week to ten days.

^ The +1 is a big history buff, especially the Civil War. When I told him a famous person had lived in The Governor's House Inn, he immediately said Edward Rutledge, who was the youngest signer of the Declaration of Independence. I was impressed!

Lainey, are you also going to Spring Fling the middle of May?

Are you tacking your other road trip onto Spring Fling?

No, Sue. Can't make SF, it's too far for just a weekend trip, and the time frame doesn't work for us to make that our vacation week. We have other "stuff" going on at home at that time. We will miss everyone though. It's been too long since we've attended SF
